We are one of the newest and busiest Troops in the Tidewater Council, We were founded in September of 2001 and are located in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake, Virginia, chartered by St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
Troop 901 is a boy lead Troop consisting of four Patrols with an average of 10 to 12 Scouts in each Patrol We currently consist of 35 boys. The Troop meets regularly from 6:30 - 8 PM on Sunday evenings to conduct Troop and Patrol activities and participates in many District and Council wide events. During the course of the year, Troop 901 participates in several outdoor activities such as the District Spring and Fall Camporee, Winter Camp, Resident summer camps, Troop and Patrol Camping, many High adventure activites such as backcountry hiking and biking, Scuba, Canoing, Rafting, 1st Flight experience and more, various Scouting fundraisers, community service projects and other social activities.
We have 100% trained leadership with many adult leaders having taken the "Wood Badge" training and a large portion of our youth leaders have (or will shortly have) taken the National Youth Leadership Training course. We have consistantly earned the quality unit award and we earned the BSA Journey to Excellance Gold level award for 2011.
