Troop 901 & 800

About Us

We are one of the busiest Troops in the Tidewater Council, We were founded in September of 2001 (9/01) and are located in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake, Virginia, chartered by St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Troop 901 is a boy lead Troop consisting of eight Patrols with an average of 8 to 10 Scouts in each Patrol We currently consist of 53 Scouts. The Troop meets regularly from 6:30 - 8 PM on Sunday evenings to conduct Troop and Patrol activities and participates in many District and Council-wide events. During the course of the year, Troop 901 participates in several outdoor activities such as the District Spring and Fall Camporee, Winter Camp, Resident summer camps, Troop and Patrol Camping, many High adventure activities such as backcountry hiking and biking, canoeing, rafting and more, various Scouting fundraisers, community service projects and other social activities. We have 100% trained leadership with many adult leaders having taken the "Wood Badge" training and a large portion of our youth leaders have taken the National Youth Leadership Training course. We have earned the BSA Journey to Excellence Gold level award each year since that award began in 2011. We also have a Cub Scout Pack 901! We invite you to explore our website at your leisure.
